Internationalen H\u00fcrtgenwaldmarsches am 28. und 29. August 2026 sind wir auf engagierte Unterst\u00fctzung angewiesen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dieser Aufruf richtet sich ausschlie\u00dflich an Funktioner\/Helfer.<\/strong><br>Eine Anmeldung als Teilnehmer am Marsch ist hier nicht m\u00f6glich. Das entsprechende Formular wird im Mai bereitgestellt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Der Einsatz als Funktioner ist sowohl im Rahmen einer Reservedienstleistung (RD) in der Vorbereitungsphase als auch an den Veranstaltungstagen im Rahmen einer DVag m\u00f6glich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Registration for Staff \/ Volunteers (March registration opens in May!)<\/strong> We are currently recruiting staff\/volunteers for the 41st International H\u00fcrtgen Forest March (28\u201329 August 2026). <strong>This registration is for staff\/volunteers only.<\/strong> Participant registration for the march itself will open in May. Internationale H\u00fcrtgenwaldmarsch wird im Jahr am 28. &amp; 29.08.2026 wieder in der Eifel \/ Vossenack durchgef\u00fchrt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"615\" height=\"871\" src=\"https:\/\/xn--hrtgenwaldmarsch-jzb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Plakat_neu_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/xn--hrtgenwaldmarsch-jzb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Plakat_neu_3.jpg 615w, https:\/\/xn--hrtgenwaldmarsch-jzb.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Plakat_neu_3-212x300.jpg 212w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 615px) 100vw, 615px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">H\u00f6hepunkt f\u00fcr viele Teilnehmende ist der Samstag. Auf verschiedenen Marschrouten \u00fcber unterschiedliche Distanzen geht es zu den Schaupl\u00e4tzen der schweren K\u00e4mpfe im H\u00fcrtgenwald ab Herbst 1944. Das sogenannte \u201eVerdun in der Eifel\u201c z\u00e4hlt zu den verlustreichsten Gefechten des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Daran erinnern verschiedene Gedenkst\u00e4tten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gef\u00fchrte Touren sind ebenso vorgesehen wie unterschiedliche Streckenangebote. Alternativ kann die Region auch auf einer gesonderten MTB-Fahrradroute erschlossen werden. Der Start der ersten Teilnehmenden ist ab 08:30 Uhr geplant; k\u00fcrzere Strecken starten sp\u00e4ter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rund um den Sportplatz steht zudem die politische und historische Bildung im Mittelpunkt. Vortr\u00e4ge und Ausstellungen vermitteln Hintergr\u00fcnde und ordnen die Ereignisse ein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Am Freitag ist eine Kranzniederlegung auf der Kriegsgr\u00e4berst\u00e4tte H\u00fcrtgen vorgesehen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-9ea9de3557edab6b4469dff93e6affdc wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The new H\u00fcrtgen Forest March<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>41st International H\u00fcrtgenwald March<\/strong> will take place on <strong>August 28\u201329, 2026<\/strong>, in <strong>Vossenack, located in Germany&#8217;s Eifel region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For many participants, <strong>Saturday<\/strong> is the highlight of the event. Several hiking routes of varying distances lead through the historic H\u00fcrtgen Forest to the sites of the fierce battles fought there beginning in the autumn of 1944. Often referred to as the <strong>&#8222;Verdun of the Eifel,&#8220;<\/strong> the Battle of H\u00fcrtgen Forest was one of the longest and costliest campaigns fought by U.S. and German forces during World War II. Numerous memorials along the routes commemorate those who lost their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants can choose between <strong>guided tours<\/strong> and <strong>self-guided hiking routes<\/strong> of different lengths. As an alternative, the area can also be explored on a dedicated <strong>mountain bike route<\/strong>. The first participants will start at <strong>8:30 a.m.<\/strong>, with shorter routes beginning later in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the day, the area around the sports field in Vossenack serves as the event center, where <strong>historical and civic education<\/strong> take center stage.
